Know!
Who do you trust most in this life? Your spouse? Your spouse may be a great choice, but have they always come through for you 100% of the time? Probably not. Yet, you still trust them because you know their character and love for you. Now, think about Jesus. He is 100% reliable and loves you with a God-powerful love, as you know from the Biblical record, John 20:30-31. He loves you so much that He died for you. He’s not just a friend, but your very best friend if you’re a Christian with whom you share a personal, intimate relationship and who possesses supernatural God-power.
Trust!
You have evidence that your spouse is awesome. You’ve seen them do for you in the small things and life’s significant challenges. Jesus is the same way. Your evidence of Jesus’ trustworthiness is this wise: He’s out-of-this-world good; He’s always with you, always helping you; You know He’s healed the deaf, the blind, the lame, He’s brought the dead to life, and He’s given His own life for yours, Romans 5:8! What power can He express in your life if He can do that? Listen, Jesus knows the very worst about you, but He’s the one who loves you the most!
Commit!
You do want to trust Jesus with your death, and you want to trust Him with your life after that, 2 Timothy 1:12. That’s the most important thing. The moment you cross over and the “door” opens, will your soul be okay? Of course! He’s promised and proven His promises are true, John 5:24-29. You can safely commit your soul’s keeping to Him. Paul wrote this: “I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.”
Why would the Apostle Paul say this? You can certainly say he had a lot of evidence and a plethora of visions about Jesus. Jesus talked to him, and Paul changed his life because of the evidence. He was also under the Holy Spirit’s tutelage, having Paul author epistles on the guidance of the Holy Spirit’s voice.
He was wholly committed to Jesus, Galatians 2:20. He gave up his former life for the cause of Jesus and the gospel, Philippians 3:7-11. Today, we see and hear Jesus through the pages of the Bible. We can and should commit to Jesus. We should also continue to commit to Him throughout our years.
Guard!
Remember, Jesus is guarding and keeping saved souls now and in all future moments. No one can snatch the saved from His hand, John 10:28. We already know how the judgment will play out, Matthew 25: 31-33. For sincere Christians and the lost, He’s promised us eternal life (some to a resurrection of heaven and others to hell). We should follow Him and obey Him out of love for Him. We are His friend, and He’s our friend to the nth degree. We are spiritually safe through this life, expecting heaven as righteous people. Jesus never falters. He never stumbles, Hebrews 13:8. We can rest assured that our soul is secure with Him against the day of judgment. Only the saved have this promise.
