Jer 6:16  Thus says the LORD, “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.‘ 

1. It is Jehovah speaking (Jeremiah 6:16)
2. We are to stand by the ways, plural, there are many paths one could take (Jeremiah 6:16)
3. We are to ask for the ancient paths, old paths, obvious from use (Jeremiah 6:16)
4. The good way, beneficial, is in the way of the ancient paths (Jeremiah 6:16)
5. We are to walk in the good way, the ancient paths because they are good for us (Jeremiah 6:16)
6. We will find goodness for our soul (Jeremiah 6:16)
7. We will find rest for our soul, rest for the evil around us (Jeremiah 6:16)
8. Our soul is our innermost being, that which is truly us (Jeremiah 6:16)
9. Some people are obstinate and obdurate, ignoring God’s directions for peace (Jeremiah 6:16)
10. They are rebellious toward God, the One who could save their soul (Jeremiah 6:16).
