10 Things to Know About Real, True, Salvation

1. Just because you believe you’re right with God doesn’t make it so. (Matthew 7:21-27, Jeremiah 17:9).

2. You can lose your soul, even after salvation. God says so. (Hebrews 6:4-6, 2 Peter 2:20-22, James 5:19-20).

3. You’re only responsible for your own sins, not Adam’s sins (Ezekiel 18:20).

4. Get it right, the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23, 1 Thessalonians 4:1).

5. Any person can do good things, it’s not like we are incapable of doing good. You have spiritual free will (Romans 2:4-10).

6. Jesus came to seek you and me, the lost. His sacrifice is for all who trust and obey (Luke 19:10, Romans 10:8-13, 2 Peter 3:9, James 2:24, John 14:15, John 10:11).

7. While salvation is available to every person, it is conditional. One must believe, repent, confess and be baptized for salvation. God says so. Jesus said so. The Holy Spirit said so. (2 Peter 1:8, 10 [what if one doesn’t do these things?], Titus 2:11, Mark 16:16, Ephesians 2:8 [Ephesians 5:26]).

8. Each one of us needs God’s grace and knowledge for salvation (John 6:45, Genesis 6:8 [Hebrews 11:7], 2 Corinthians 6:1).

9. Baptism is truly necessary for salvation. Obedience and grace are not opposing elements. (Ephesians 5:26, Romans 6:4, Titus 3:5, 7, Romans 1:5).

10. To go to heaven one must continue in a state of grace (Acts 13:43, 1 Peter 1:2, 13-16).
