How To Not Go To Heaven

Don’t Do Anything. If we don’t want to go to heaven, we don’t have to do anything. All we need to do is live without ever giving a thought to God. You see, the gospel, from God, is something to be obeyed to receive salvation, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9. This is the foremost thing concerning billions of folks everywhere. To not get to heaven, just keep on living.

Hearing but not Obeying Many folks hear the gospel proclaimed by good, honest, preachers. However, anyone can choose not to respond to the invitation. So, those who do not act after hearing the gospel aren’t going to heaven, Acts 26:28.

Involve Yourself in the World. One can be so caught up in the world, choosing wealth, power, prestige, and lust they don’t want anything to do with God, 1 John 2:15-17.  Well then, these folks aren’t going to heaven.

Indulge Yourself in the World. By this, I mean folks who like their liquor, beer, wine, orgies, illicit drugs, and any form of immorality make a de facto choice for hell, 1 Peter 4:3-5.

Don’t consider Jesus as Savior. Oh, a significant number of people don’t care to know about Jesus. They don’t believe Jesus ever existed. Others believe but think He is a liar, a lunatic, or only a good man with a good message. And indeed, not the Savior, John 8:24. In summary, all these folks aren’t going to heaven.

Don’t believe the Testimony. Here’s a group that: (1) don’t believe He performed all those miracles, wonders, and signs. (2) Don’t believe the things He said about Himself, such that, He is the Son of God and the savior of the world. (3)  Don’t consider anything the apostles said about Jesus is true – they don’t believe the eyewitness accounts of these men who went over the known world preaching Jesus rose from the dead. And (4) They believe the Bible is a book of no value. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. All these are not going to heaven.

Just Believing is all You must Do. Yes, many people believe He is the savior. However, all one needs to do to go to heaven is believe He is the Son of God. This is not what God said, Mark 16:16, 1 Corinthians 10:9-19, Luke 13:3. Therefore, these people are not going to heaven.

They have the Wrong Doctrine. That’s right; many are not going to heaven because they believe in a false gospel. They think man’s doctrines can be mixed with Bible doctrines. Well, that won’t work. God’s word is final; there can be no additions or subtractions from His word. The only way to have false doctrine is to accept man’s ideas and commands. Paul warns against this, Galatians 1:6-10, Acts 5:29.

Those who worship nature are not going to heaven. Their saying is, “I feel closer to God at the lake, fishing.” Or “I don’t need to go to church; I’m out here with God!” Then some ignorantly say, “Nature is my god.” Don’t worship the creation. Worship God, Romans 1:20-25.

Most folks are not concerned about their judgment. It’s true, and there will be a judgment – no one knows when, but the Bible gives evidence for this, Mark 13:32, 2 Peter 3:10. Even still, most people aren’t looking to heaven for anything, particularly not salvation. They’re not going to heaven, Matthew 7:13-14.
