That’s who God made in the beginning. “So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them,” Genesis 1:27, NLT. We must see God created humans. We didn’t evolve or come from a massive explosion without cause. And we should note that all men and women are made in the image of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Two things come to mind. (1) God is spirit, and so we are spirit, too – our bodies surround our souls in this earthly attire. (2) As God has dominion over everything throughout the universe, God has given man dominion over earth’s creatures. Again, God, and God only, created male and female, Adam and Eve.
Relationships are for men and women. Adam and Eve were a couple, Genesis 2:21-25. Eve was explicitly made for Adam. She was created to be his helper. Genesis 2:24, NLT states why a man and a woman leave their parents. They become one – in the flesh, heart, and mind. Read through the Book of Solomon. It’s a love story between a man and a woman. There are couples all through the Bible. God made man and woman be together, as He stated in Genesis. There are no babies made without men, and surely there are no babies made without women. Sexual relations are between a man and a woman.
Marriage is for men and women. Jesus was talking with some Pharisees in Mark 10. They asked Jesus whether or not a man should be allowed to divorce his wife. Jesus asked, in reply, “What did Moses say in the law about divorce?” Those Pharisees then said that Moses permitted a man to give his wife a written decree and send her away. Jesus told them Moses gave that law because of the hardness of men’s hearts, but God made them male and female from the beginning. A man is joined to His wife, and the two shall become one flesh. God put men and women together as couples. Jesus went on to say that man should not separate what God has put together. Read Mark 10:1-9, NLT. By the Bible, marriage is between a man and a woman. By the Bible, by God.
So, I’m saying sexual relationships between men and men and women and women are sins. God states this so, Romans 1:26-29, NLT. Close friendships are one thing, permissible and enjoyable, but sexual relations, as in gays and lesbians, are indeed sins. There are a couple of things to note, (1) same-sex sex is sinful, and (2) carefully reading Romans 1:29, NLT, reveals that humanity is debased with all manner of sin after a society accepts same-sex relationships.
So, what about drag queens and transgender people? Deuteronomy 25:5., NLT, God says it’s an abomination. It’s called unnatural in Romans 1:24-27, NLT. God points out the hair example in 1 Corinthians 11:3-15. The Bible clearly states cross-dressing is unbelief and rebellion against God. A man is not to look like a woman, and a woman is not to look like a man.
And transgender people? In the Bible, there are no binary people. One is born a male or born a female. As difficult as it may be to folks who feel imprisoned in their birth gender, God has made one as they are. To change that falls short of God’s glory. The genders are an essential part of God’s creation. Humans are born either male or female, creating males and females.
Consider this. What if a man says, “My mental/emotional self is a female, but God made me a male?” Is that enough to rebel against what God has made? That’s the fundamental idea of sin. We cannot rationalize sin. We can’t justify it as the way of committing it. Being “true” to ourselves isn’t Biblical at this point. It’s false doctrine. Jesus said we must deny ourselves by carrying our cross, Matthew 16:24. Let’s commit to God’s word. That’s the only way to heaven’s blessings.
Is Jesus saying lesbians, gays, cross-dressers, and transgender folk shouldn’t be accepted? Accepted by what, where? In church? Church doors are open to every soul. God wants everyone to realize their sinful life and repent. Jesus came for that very purpose, Luke 19:10, NLT. God wants everyone in heaven with Him. The doors are certainly open to gay men. They are open to lesbians. The doors are open to cross-dressers and transgender folk. Listen, we are all sinners of some sort. Sin keeps us away from God. Repentance brings us to Him. Some of us want to go to heaven, and the only way to do that is the way God says.
