He’s worth a moment to consider His message.
The Question
Why would you, or anyone, take a moment to consider Jesus? I know, it may seem old, cliche, or even useless to do so. However, if He is what He says He is, then goodness, wouldn’t it be the most essential thing in your life to investigate? That’s what we do at Matthews St. church of Christ in Bay City, TX. We spend our time studying the Bible to determine whether Jesus is who He says He is and, if so, what He wants from us.
We also help others, just like you, investigate what Jesus says about Himself. After that, it’s a personal decision whether to follow Him. It’s your decision. Of course, we want you to choose Jesus. We believe that Jesus is God (as is the Father and the Holy Spirit). We base our belief on the authoritative text of the Bible. It’s been verified as legitimate many times over. So, you’d want to look to the Bible, particularly the New Testament, to make your decision.
If You Decide For Jesus
The Fruit of the Spirit blossoms in you. You can find the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
Since you’ve chosen Jesus, you can look forward to finding and enjoying a life full of those blessings. Ask yourself, “Is there joy, peace, love, peace… in my life?” You do want that, don’t you? People spend significant sums of money to find these for their own lives. As a Christian, you are freely given them.
You can also expect great blessings concerning stress, worry, and anxiety. Philippians 4:6-8 says we can trust God to be with us through thick and thin. Since Jesus is God, you can talk with Him about your issues, good, scary, or evil. He listens, and He will help you through things that keep you up at night. He even tells you how to think to have the best life.
You can also expect a life colored by grace (2 Peter 1:5-8). Wouldn’t you want supernatural wisdom for your life? It only comes from God. How about an excellent moral life? Looking through the verses, you can see how they reflect the new you.
Spend a moment looking at Romans 12:1-2. Want a better life all around? Change your thoughts. Jesus is working on you as His follower to give you the cleanest, sweetest mind. If you’ve experienced turmoil, then you know a healthy mind is of great value.
The Final Solution
Then there’s the end of your life. There are many thoughts about what happens to you at the end. Jesus even tells you about this final life event. It’s in the Bible. When you pass, your soul will not experience an eternal fire, but an infinite, sweet, blessed, blissful life. There’s nothing to hurt or worry you. Everything that hurt you in your life will be done away with. You’ll have perfect security. You’ll never die in heaven. You’ll see angels, and you’ll be with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit forever. You’ll see the myriad saved people there.
If you’re a Christian, you have the greatest joy awaiting you, heaven.
Just make sure you decide for Jesus.
