For Teens: The Godly Way Of Self Esteem

What Is Self-Esteem?

Self-esteem refers to a person’s overall sense of value or worth. It can measure how much a person “values, approves of, appreciates, prizes, or likes him or herself.”

In the diagram below, shade the number that best describes your feelings about yourself. Left is the lowest choice, and right is the best description.

    What God Did.

    Fill in the Blanks:

God looked at everything he had And he saw that everything was . There was evening, and then there was morning. This was the sixth day. (Genesis 1:15).

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second most important command is this: 'Love your neighbor the same as ' "These two commands are the most important." (MK. 12:30-31).

    True-False (T or F)

    God made you.

    God loves you.

He won’t take care of you.

Jesus loves you so much that He died for you.

    Do You Love Yourself?

If Jesus died for you, don’t you think you’re OK just as you are?

Self-love keeps you alive. Without it, you wouldn’t accomplish anything. You wouldn’t really be living.

In the space below, write the things for which you dislike yourself. Then, write the things for which you like yourself.

Remember! You are essential on Earth!
